Karen Linares brings over 28 years of experience in the medical field and 8 years of practice as a Nurse Practitioner across urgent care, pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, and psychiatric mental health, giving students exposure to both clinical depth and real-world decision-making. As a dual board-certified FNP-C and PMHNP-BC, she emphasizes clinical reasoning, ethical practice, and practical application rather than rote learning. 

Her commitment to serving underserved communities has shaped a mentorship approach grounded in patient-centered care, accessibility, and professional accountability. Karen earned her PMHNP from Western University of Health Sciences and is licensed across multiple states, allowing students to gain insight into diverse patient populations and telehealth-based psychiatric care.
